At Wamsutta Apartments in New Bedford, MA, our team partnered with Dellbrook | JKS to renovate and preserve a 144-unit affordable housing community spanning 29 historic buildings in the Acushnet Heights Historic District.
The project safeguarded an important affordable housing resource while maintaining the historic character of the neighborhood.
Our 70-person workforce delivered comprehensive upgrades across six trades, including carpentry, roofing, siding, painting, drywall, and flooring. Unit renovations featured significant kitchen and bathroom upgrades, durable new finishes, and modernized systems—all carefully balanced with the preservation of historic details.
CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS
Completing a 29-building, 144-unit renovation within a one-year schedule required precise planning and efficient deployment of labor. Renovations were strategically sequenced with tenant relocation to minimize disruption while keeping progress on track.
Extensive rot in siding and wood deck stairs demanded major repair and replacement, performed with the craftsmanship necessary to protect historic integrity.
